ARTIST BIO: I am Emma Ruth Shirey, a folk singer/songwriter from Giles County, Virginia. I have been playing music for over eight years and there are few things that I love more. I am inspired by many artists similar to and namely Brandi Carlile, Mumford and Sons, the Lumineers, Carly Simon, Dave Matthews Band, the Avett Brothers, Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, Simon and Garfunkel, Don McLean, and the Beatles. I love to tell stories through song and play music that moves people in their hearts and minds with the acoustics my guitar and sound of my voice. *Event is by donation, feel free to invite and bring friends!

ARTIST BIO: Jordan Furrow Growing up in Beckley, W.V., Jordan Furrow discovered his passion for music when he got his first drum set at the age of 13. Soon after and for years to come he gradually picked up bass, guitar and many other instruments to solidify his status as a multi-instrumentalist. Having played with various bands in his local scene and abroad, he gained knowledge of many genres and still continues to push the boundaries of what is possible with music. After moving to Seattle to play with other musicians for a few years, he's returned to his roots in the wild and wonderful mountain state to continue his sonic journey. Bands and musicians he's played with over the years include Option 22, The Kind Thieves, Isaac Hadden, Jonah Carden, Yaima, Luness, members of Big Something, and many others

Mercer Street Grassroots District

Enjoy a whimsical day in downtown Princeton is back, featuring a lovely parade! Don your faerie wings and flower crowns, grab some glitter and join the fun! The day begins at 11 a.m. with sidewalk chalk, face painting, costuming and joyous festivity. We will make our way to the sidewalk in front of the New Farmer's Market site (next to Oasis Market Gas Station at 702 Mercer Street) at 12:30 p.m. and begin marching at 1 p.m. down Mercer Street. Costumes, wings, puppets, glitter, and non-motorized floats are welcome and highly encouraged. Anyone is welcome to join the parade! (No motorized vehicles are allowed.)

After the parade we will make our way to the Town Square for drumming, dancing and general merriment.

Discover the best kept secret in Princeton, a magical labyrinth of medicinal and pollinator plants in Princeton City Park. Learn how and why to start a pollinator garden, and meet and greet with the garden's volunteer steward, Ms. Becky Kidwell. This event is part of Peak of the Bloom, a celebration of the art of nature.

Plant Propagation Party with Leslie Caneda!

The Pigment Sanctuary, 860 Mercer Street

Learn how to propagate your plants, decorate a pot, and transform thrifted ceramic finds into planters! Participants are encouraged to scavenge their local thrift store and bring quirky ceramics treasures to MMF and, and adopt a plant! The Pigment Sanctuary is located in the back of Appalachian Coffeehouse at 860 Mercer Street in The Grassroots District.

Sunflower Painting Workshop

Diamonds & Gold Look, The Grassroots District

Join Promise Sloan for her bold take on flower painting! We will be painting a Sunflower in the style of Van Gogh. All materials are included to paint your masterpiece. No experience necessary, our artists will guide you through. So grab your friends and family and come out and have yourself a great time! Guided Plein Air Painting Experience (SOLD OUT)

Camp Creek State Park

En plein air (French pronunciation: ​[ɑ̃ plɛn ɛːʁ], French for outdoors, or plein air painting) is the act of painting outdoors. Artist Lacey Vilandry will lead a plein air painting workshop in the beautiful wildflower fields of Camp Creek State Park. Meet at the Camp Creek State Park amphitheater at 3:30pm and enjoy a beautiful ride up to a remote area of The Forrest. No experience necessary. Cost to attend is $25. Lapboards, canvases and paint will be provided. This event is part of the Peak of the Bloom celebration August 6-15. This event is now SOLD OUT. Award Winning Photographer Steve Jessee of Associated Photography will lead us on a guided photo exclusion through the beautiful and remote fields of wildflowers at Camp Creek State Park. Enjoy a beautiful wagon ride up to the special spot! Enjoy a special Concert in Dick Copeland Town Square in The Grassroots District with Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road with Lilly Comer. The concert is Free & open to the public, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs & picnic blankets, and enjoy dining, strolling the shops, creative activities and all our blossoming neighborhood has to offer.
